Three Things I Measure Every Day to Stay Focused and Intentional

One of the most valuable things my coach told me recently during a coaching call really stuck with me. He said you cannot move what you do not measure. That simple idea changed the way I think about my daily habits and how intentional I want to be with my time, my business, and my health.

When we start measuring the things that matter, we gain awareness. And when we have awareness, we can actually start improving those areas of our lives. There are three things I personally measure every day, and the last one might surprise you.

I Measure My Money Every Day

The first thing I check daily is my bank accounts. I look at both my business accounts and my personal accounts so I can see exactly what is coming in and what is going out.

To be honest, this is a newer habit for me. It is still a muscle I am building, but I have realized how important it is to stay aware of my finances. When you look at your numbers consistently, you stay connected to your goals and you are more intentional about the decisions you make.

For me, it is about making sure my money is moving in the right direction.

I Write Down My Daily Wins

The second thing I do at the end of most days is write down three wins from that day. Sometimes our days feel chaotic and it can feel like we did not accomplish much, but when I take a moment to reflect, there are always wins worth celebrating.

Writing down those three wins helps shift my mindset and reminds me of the progress I am making.

I also take it a step further and write down three wins that I want to accomplish the next day. This helps me stay focused and gives me a clear direction for what I want my next day to look like.

I Track What I Eat

The third thing I measure every day might surprise you. I track what I eat.

This habit actually started years ago when I did Weight Watchers. Writing down my food helped me become more aware of what I was consuming, and it is something that has stuck with me over time.

When I track what I eat, it helps me notice patterns. Sometimes it reminds me that I need more protein. Other times it helps me realize I need to cut back on sweets. And honestly, sometimes it reminds me that I simply need to eat more because that tends to be my challenge.

Being mindful about what I put in my body helps me stay balanced and healthy.

Why Measuring Matters

The reason I track these three things every day is simple. You cannot move what you do not measure.

By paying attention to my finances, my mindset, and my health, I am able to stay intentional about the direction I am going. These small daily habits help keep me grounded and focused on growth.

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that progress happens when we pay attention to the things that matter most.

Start by measuring something important in your life. You might be surprised by how much clarity and progress it creates.
